Groceries - Dutch style

From the money I received for my birthday I decided to buy a sensible product: bicycle bags! This is the way Dutch women get groceries. Not the weekly ones, where you buy liters and liters of milk, but the odds and ends that you forget and have to run to the store for. Some people don't have a car; they use them for everything.

As you can see the bags have zippers. That way, when I have a lot of things to carry with me, I can enlarge the bags. The elastic bands across the bags also hold a box or purse in place.
Are these even available outside of Europe?

People like us use them for our weekly groceries too.. Two bikes with bike bags and some loose bags too. You can do a lot of shopping that way.

Looks efficient! I like it!

That is a great way to get exercise too!

I walk every day 60 -90 minutes and I enjoy it.

The bicycle bags you get in the UK lack the square shape. Aslo they tend to only be used by people who go for long distance rides (for provisions etc) and not for carrying shopping.

@Hette: I saw those kitsh kitchen ones and I want some. May need a bike and less hilly hometown first though.

Gaat prima! Maar fietstassen lijken me ook wel handig ;)

Yes, hands ON the brain. I know- both interesting & gross. If the smell just wasn't so bad...but we were in the lab with human cadavers, plus all kinds of body parts & the preservitive that goes with it all. Just a bit pungent for sure. All so I can help others....that's what I'm telling myself. :0) Thanks for asking!
